Chennai Metro Rail Ltd launched the Singara Chennai Card (NCMC - National Common Mobility Card) in partnership with SBI (Banking Partner) on Friday.

Singara Chennai cards are currently accepted at Chennai Metro stations and other metros that accept RuPay NCMC cards, including MMRDA Mumbai Lines 2A and 7. Bangalore Metro; Delhi Metro Airport Line; Kanpur Metro; Bus transport in Goa for the best buses from Mumbai and Kadamba. In the future, customers will be able to use their cards to make purchases on buses, suburban railways, toll roads, parking lots, smart cities and many other locations. RuPay NCMC card technology was developed by National Payments Corporation of India. A unique feature of this card is the Stored Value area, which allows you to store up to Rs 2,000, which can be used for offline ticket purchases.

SBI has a dedicated website (https://transit.sbi/swift/customerportal?pagename=cmrl) where you can apply and download new cards. The card balance can be topped up through cash and online bank accounts, the statement said.

Initially, NCMC cards are issued by State Bank of India at Koyambedu, Central Railway Station, Airport, High Court, Alandur, Thirumangalam and Guindy metro stations and can be used at automatic gates at all metro stations, the announcement said. . Paycraft, a payment company, operates the Chennai Metro ticketing system.

According to the company's press release, this will be the second ticketing system that Paycraft will launch within a year of its successful launch on the Pune Metro.
